The Shenzhen Furniture Industry Association has more than 2,700 member enterprises, basically covering high-quality furniture factories in various provinces and cities across China.
2、Member Distribution
Influenced by the timeline of the transformation from handicraft workshops to industrial mass production, Chinese furniture factories are distributed in a south-to-north radiation pattern.
Members of the Shenzhen Furniture Association are distributed as follows: approximately 70% are in the southern region, and 30% in the eastern region. The eastern region, with Shandong Province as its core, mainly produces Chinese-style solid wood furniture and metal furniture. The southern region, centered on Guangdong Province, focuses on European and American-style upholstered furniture and panel furniture. Nearly 60% of upholstered furniture and panel furniture factories are clustered in this region, and the market share of upholstered and panel finished furniture exceeds 70%.

Members of the Shenzhen Furniture Industry Association are primarily furniture factories, accounting for 80% of the total membership. Enterprises in upstream and downstream industries, such as raw and auxiliary materials, home accessories, furniture stores, decoration design, furniture lighting, and woodworking machinery, account for 20% of the total membership.

5、Association Talent
The Shenzhen Furniture Association has more than 500 professional service talents, including undergraduates, master's and doctoral students, professors, etc., in the fields of furniture, design, and marketing, as well as international professionals from Italy, Spain, the United States and other countries. It can collectively complete the full industrial chain services of seven major modules, including R&D, education, marketing, exhibitions, testing, supervision, and IP operation.

1、Marketing
The Shenzhen Furniture Association owns an independent park covering 12,000 square meters in Nanshan District, Shenzhen, with 2 self-built office buildings and a 6,000-square-meter office area. It has multiple facilities including a multi-function hall, product exhibition hall, conference rooms, reception rooms, live broadcast studios, and VIP customer reception clubs. It annually hosts over 200 resource matching meetings, business negotiations, product launches, and training sessions.
It acts as an agent for centralized procurement projects of multinational trading companies, providing cost-effective source factory resources with dual guarantees of originality and quality; offering FOB Yantian Port or CIF destination delivery services. It also establishes Shenzhen offices for overseas multinational trading companies, providing office spaces and conference services.
2、Exhibition
The Shenzhen Furniture Association established an Exhibition Center in 1996 and launched the Shenzhen International Furniture Fair. As of March 2025, it has held 40 editions. Each fair gathers over 1,000 leading Chinese furniture brands and more than 20,000 trendy new products, hosts over 200 new product launches and industry trend forums, and attracts 280,000+ domestic and international agents and distributors.
The Qingdao Furniture Fair organized by the Association has been held 22 times as of May 2025, focusing on solid wood furniture and gathering over 3,000 solid wood furniture enterprises from the eastern region to participate.
3、Testing
The Shenzhen Furniture Association established a Testing Center in 2004 and has built four major laboratory bases in China, serving as a core service institution for quality improvement in China's furniture industry. The Testing Center has obtained multiple authoritative qualifications and accreditations, with its test reports being internationally mutually recognized and legally valid for arbitration within China.
Provide quality testing: testing services for finished furniture, raw and auxiliary materials, home building materials, air quality, etc.;
Conduct quality research: standard research and development, quality control system research, quality improvement training, quality analysis reports;
Organize quality evaluation: quality star rating, green premium product evaluation, Shenzhen Standard certification.
4、R&D
The Shenzhen Furniture Association established the Shenzhen Furniture Research and Development Institute in 2002, engaging in research and development of furniture raw materials and finished product standards, industrial park planning, enterprise strategic positioning, and other areas.
Release of Furniture Trend White Papers:
Since 2008, it has conducted market research on domestic and international furniture industry data and formed a unique system. It annually publishes trend white papers and holds trend launch conferences. As of 2025, it has consecutively released 18 issues of white papers, providing enterprises with timely sales trend data analysis and suggestions for domestic and international furniture products, totaling nearly 5 million words.
5、Education
Shenzhen Furniture Research and Development Institute designs management courses for core decision-making members of home furnishing enterprises, and hosts summer/winter training camps for product R&D directors, key designers, and lead furniture designers of home furnishing enterprises. Strategic designers with master's and doctoral degrees in furniture specialize in the entire process of design and implementation, providing enterprises with scientific and systematic strategic design services; helping enterprises shape brand images and clearly convey brand value propositions.
6、Supervision
In 2005, the Shenzhen Furniture Association established a centralized procurement supervision center to provide full-quality assurance services for bulk furniture procurement by enterprises, governments, schools, hotels, hospitals, etc., including: furniture design, furniture quality supervision, furniture procurement contract performance, and furniture supervision technical consulting.
Design and Planning:
Furniture demand research, furniture plane space layout planning, furniture product design and style matching.
Technical Consulting:
Preparation and sorting of furniture procurement lists, preparation and optimization of technical parameters, formulation of product quality acceptance standards, review of furniture production construction drawings and pre-production samples, and technical acceptance after cargo installation.
Business Consulting:
Furniture cost estimation, assistance in supplier inspection, preparation of bidding documents, and consulting services.
Quality Supervision:
Supervised sampling of raw materials and finished products, feedback on production progress and installation processes, quality inspection and follow-up of non-compliance rectification, cargo quality acceptance reports, and indoor air quality testing to ensure full-quality assurance for the purchaser from design to implementation.
7、IP Operation
In 2022, the Shenzhen Furniture Industry Association established an IP Operation Center, providing enterprises with short video production, operational guidance and agency services for Douyin (TikTok) and WeChat Video accounts. It offers live broadcasting for new product promotion and operates cultural tourism product transformation through internet celebrity IPs.
三、Social Responsibility
To thoroughly implement the strategic deployment of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council to win the battle against poverty, the Shenzhen Furniture Association has closely collaborated with the education, civil affairs, and poverty alleviation departments of the project autonomous prefectures, actively supporting counterpart assistance projects in Liangshan, Sichuan, and Baise, Guangxi.
1、In 2018, the Shenzhen Furniture Industry Association collaborated with social organizations in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, focusing primarily on education and healthcare:In education, it provided financial aid to 50 impoverished students at Jinyang Middle School, granting each student 5,000 yuan in support.In healthcare, it donated medical equipment to township health centers in Puge County, including 1 B-ultrasound machine, 1 blood routine testing device, and 1 electrocardiogram machine, improving local education and medical standards.
2、In 2019, the Association partnered with the Houlong Village Committee of Sicheng Town, Lingyun County, Baise City, Guangxi, to provide paired assistance. It funded 20,000 yuan to purchase 150 sets of characteristic school uniforms, enabling children to grow happily at school with full vitality and an optimistic attitude.
3、In 2020, the Association donated 1 million yuan to the disaster-stricken area in Wuhan to support the city, paying tribute to frontline medical staff fighting in the epidemic zone and cheering for Wuhan and China.
4、In 2021, the Association donated 25,536 yuan to purchase furniture for the Party-Mass Activity Center in Hu’ercun Village, Shanwei, Guangdong, providing local Party members with their own activity room.
5、In April 2022, the Shenzhen Furniture Industry Association responded to the "Shenzhen Care · People's Warmth" epidemic prevention and care initiative launched by the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs. It organized member enterprises to actively donate funds to jointly support the "Shenzhen Care · People's Warmth" epidemic prevention and care project. Among them, the executive vice president unit, Shenzhen Yuanchao Smart Life Co., Ltd., donated 3 million yuan in charitable funds.

Mr. Hou Kepeng (Oliver Hou), after working and living overseas for many years, possesses a broad international vision and rich enterprise management experience. With 20 years of dedicated contribution to the furniture industry, he was awarded the "Outstanding Contribution Award" by the China National Furniture Association in 2019 and is hailed as the "soul figure" of the furniture industry. Amidst the tide of China's socialist market economy, he has pioneered a brand-new reform and development model for industry associations: "democratic decision-making, corporate-style operation, and market-oriented services".
